Long time, No updates

Hello all who follow our blog... might be one or two out there:P Right now we are just going along, working away... really missing home now. School is going good. We're finishing up standardized testing tomorrow. I've enjoyed having it because I've been able to get a lot of planning done so hopefully I won't have to be up at school on Sunday like usual.

Austin's busy working. He's becoming a pro at the cash register. He's stolen my dream job that I never got to do..... be a cashier :) I always thought it would be so fun! Maybe one summer...

We got a letter from Jay today. (well austin did) We really miss him and the rest of the family. We miss home. Wish we could visit more often. Looks like we won't make it for Christmas. Austin has to work. He'll be there for Andrew's wedding Dec 17-21. Then I will come down sometime after Christmas for a bit. I can't think about it too much or I might get depressed.

My parents are coming up for a visit the first part of October so that will be great to have them here. We'll be going on a field trip with my class to an apple orchard that they will be able to join us on.

Well I'm pretty tired, so I'm going to sign off. Hope you all are doing great and hope to talk to you soon! We got our new computer so we can skype or ichat with our built in webcam:) yah!! Let us know if you'd like to chat. For Ichat, use austin's email and with skype use mine:) Love you all!

Next week: Work here we come!

Next week, school starts and L.L. Bean work starts! We are getting ready. Austin has been such a help in the classroom this week!! I'll have to post pictures when I take some:) I'm about ready....Just need to plan a few more subjects for the week. Planning is time consuming... Thankfully it's Sabbath and we can now rest for a wonderful 24 hours! Other than getting the classroom ready, we have not been up to much else. Tomorrow we were going to go to this rock climbing area nearby but it's raining now and 100% chance of rain tomorrow... fun fun.

Well that's about all for now! Have a wonderful weekend!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Wow... It's been a while since I've written anything! Sorry for those trusty followers.. haha... (don't think we have any...) Since our last post happened, here are a few updates.

  • Austin GOT the job at L.L. Bean!! Yah!! He starts on Sept. 1.
  • We got our cars registered and took them through the awful inspection... neither passed.
  • Got my car fixed and passed. Still saving funds for Austin's.
  • I've been teacher shopping and organizing!! I'm in the classroom full time now, getting ready for the kids the 31st.
  • We got a vacuum!! yah!!
  • We got our first living room chair from Matt and Jessica!!! YAH!!!!! Really tired of using a broken camping chair and our desk chair. :P (NH living is uptown, let me tell you! lol)
  • Austin had a root canal and loves his endodontist. Too bad we can't stay there. But we are moving on to Adam Sandler's sister. Not a bad move if I do say so myself. Dr. Katz (endodontist) says she's the best so that's where we're going.
  • We have a new hobby of selling our old school textbooks online. We've been amazed with the results! They go so quick!
  • Austin's dropping out of the NCIS phase but I am still going strong!
  • Austin got a new/old bike to fix up... He needed a hobby since I'm at school. :)
  • OH, I went to our pool for the first and only time. Very nice to relax and read. I actually got very hot and had to get in but only for a few cold minutes:)
  • We've had Sabbath lunch at 2 families houses and one more to go tomorrow. This church family is very welcoming! :)
Well I think that's about the last few weeks in a nutshell. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Exciting Week

This week was very fun because my parent's (Katrina) surprised me and came to visit!! And it was my birthday!! Mom took me "back to school" shopping, we ate at Olive Garden and then the following day we went up to Maine! It was a beautiful day and we drove up to Kittery Point where there is an old Fort on the coast. Beautiful view of lighthouses and sailboats! Sadly we had to take them to the airport the next day and say good bye once again...

Austin had an interview with L.L. Bean. He thought it went really well so we will wait and see! We know something will work out whether it's that job or something else! All in God's timing. For now I am happy he is available to come with me to my teacher meetings in Rhode Island tomorrow through Wednesday!

Yesterday we went and registered our cars and also go Austin's NH driver's license. I already got mine on Monday because my license expired then since I turned 25. It was pouring down rain but we made it! We ate a late lunch at Papa Gino's. Very good pizza!! The next people that come to visit, we'll have to go there:)

Today at church 3 of my soon-to-be student's got baptized. It was wonderful to be able to be there and support them. They had potluck afterwards... got to meet some more people and have a nice visit. Then we took a nap at home, Austin took a bike ride and then we took a walk near sundown.

We finally found the "Rolling Thunder" DVD Jay made about our move up here. (It had fallen behind the TV before we even got to watch it) It was so fun to watch it and Jay did a great job making it! Even though he made me and Andrea look a little boring... which we are very exciting people!! :P Anyways, we've had a great week and tomorrow we are off to Rhode Island until Wednesday.

Restful Sabbath

Our Sabbath has been wonderful! We started it off last night with worship, listening to Pastor Nixon's sermon from last week about marriage (to the men). Today we got up and went to church. Very nice people in our church. So friendly and welcoming. We headed home to eat. Then I got a wonderful singing videogram from my niece and nephews. (james included:) They sang me happy birthday! It was too cute for words and made me miss them so much!! I called the crew and then the all sang again lol Love it guys, thanks!! We then headed to hang out with Teri and Joe Greenleaf by her parent's pool. On the way, Austin talked to his family and they are all safely back from their travels. :) We had a nice relaxing time by the pool and got some great ideas of where to go around here:) On the way home, we took the scenic route and it was beautiful!!! I love the new england countryside and the old style homes. They are so pretty! We're now back at home. Just finished supper a bit ago and now Austin is riding his bike while watching le Tour de France. It inspires him:) All together our Sabbath has been wonderful and relaxing. Love you all!

NCIS and School

We've found that our new favorite show is NCIS. It used to be Everybody Loves Raymond because we only got about 15 channels. Now that we have many more, we've been able to watch shows we've only dreamed of watching. It also hasn't helped that it seems there is always an NCIS marathon on whenever we want to watch something.

Other than NCIS, we have continued getting fit with out workouts. Yesterday we were both working out in our gym together (AKA living room). My workout on the computer and his on the TV. It was a little hard to compromise the sound but we made it!

Today I am going to school again to meet with a church member about making a website for the school. She keeps up the churches, so she is going to help me add another page for the school.

This weekend we get to go visit with a teacher I worked with at Spalding, Teri Greenleaf-2nd grade. She is from up here and comes up every summer to visit her family. So we are going over Sabbath afternoon to swim and visit. Hope it doesn't rain like it has been this week.

Getting into Shape

This week we have started our workout plans. I (Katrina) am doing the p90x workouts. I finished day 2 today and have never been more sore in my life. Austin has started biking again. He's gone out twice on different routes around Manchester and has used his stationary mechanism once when it rained.

I have gotten better acquainted with my classroom and am getting excited for the school year. Yet I'm even more excited to go shopping for the classroom!! Can't wait!!

Austin is still applying different places for work. Please keep that in your prayers! We know that Lord has a plan.

Our house is still somewhat in disarray... slowly but surely it will get to be more homey. We've had very nice experiences at church. Last week we got introduced to the congregation and after church we met more people than we did the week before. Everyone is very nice and welcoming!

Austin said we should start this so we have something to do.... life is a little uneventful right now, so stay tuned for more posts!! :) We miss everyone and hope to see you soon! We have an extra room just waiting! :)
